Even though I’m a graphic designer and handwriting analyst, when I doodle, it’s still a mindless activity I do mainly when on the phone with someone just listening.
I have a tendency to gravitate to the basic, geometric shapes for most of my doodles. This particular one looks like a cart of triangles going to market. It’s definitely going forward, anxious to meet others and get things done. The sketchiness of the lines indicate worry, feelings of agitation and some frustration. Some lines are heavier, revealing a deepening of emotion and determination. This thing wants to GO forward!
When it comes to individual shapes, generally speaking, the triangle represents one who has an organized and efficient mind. Triangles also suggest direction and a sense of purpose in life. They are pointed, angular and inflexible. Rules and the adherence thereof are a vital part of my belief system and practical life.
Most of us are familiar with the circle, that symbol of eternal love, wholeness, everlasting life, the entire universe, and that which has no beginning or end. The rounded shape of the circle also reflects qualities of flexibility, and softness. Yes, the boss-lady has a soft heart, sometimes.
The square, or in this case a rectangle, which is just a square that’s been pulled out from one end to make it longer is mathematical and represents the scientific order of the universe. It’s attribute of being a good foundation grounds it to the earth. Rectangles and squares are very good building blocks seen everywhere in our society today. If you build something, you want to start with a good, steady foundation.
Well, it looks like my subconscious mind built this little cart to take my organized and efficient mind somewhere. To market? Perhaps to present to others? The eternal whole, the universe gives it motion, pushing me along whether I’m aware of it or not. I carry with it all my worries and concerns for your perusal. Are you ready? I’m almost there!
